Today's “A.S.T.-Angewandte System Technik GmbH, Mess-und Regeltechnik” in Dresden existed since 1961 as a scientific industrial company "VEB Schwingungstechnik and Akustik Dresden" (SAD), later became the newly founded "VEB Messelektronik Dresden" (MED) and then incorporated into the "VEB Kombinat Robotron" in 1979. It built on many years of "measurement experience" during the privatization of “A.S.T.-Mess-und Regeltechnik” Dresden more than 30 years ago. Today, and especially in recent years, other focal points have been added in Dresden in addition to power measurement technology. This includes our modern mechanical and electronic manufacturing, as well as software development, which made “A.S.T.-Angewandte System Technik GmbH, Mess-und Regeltechnik”, known worldwide with system solutions in railway technology.
At our Dresden location, we have concentrated our production know-how in joining technology, electronic assembly and mechanical production with electronic equipment construction. This has the location advantage, especially in power measurement technology, that we can represent the predominant production chain in-house and thus provide the necessary precision of our measuring systems for the transport industry, i.e. also the measuring systems for geometrical measurement of passenger coaches, etc.
